I finished the embroidery on my Valentine's day project!
For these swirly lines, I used the Back Stitch.
You may remember on my last post about this project, I was considering whether to use sequins or beads for the accents
I ended up using both!
The floss I used is DMC #321.
I have a new work in progress to share. I am embroidering a table runner for Valentine's Day.
This motif is actually from my Wedding embroidery pattern but I think it is perfect for Valentine's Day
After transferring the motif to my fabric with a water soluble marking pen, I stitched the three hearts. I used Straight Stitch to fill the hearts and Stem Stitch to outline them.
Then I added these small seed beads for some sparkle.
Next step is embroidering the swirly lines ~not sure which stitch I will use~ and then adding either sequins or more beads...I haven't decided which yet!
I have been embroidering this Mr. & Mrs. motif from my Wedding embroidery pattern set.
I added the hearts motif and transferred them together onto my fabric:
You can see the hearts are surrounded by small circles. These circles indicate using French Knots but I thought some pearl beads would look beautiful!
These come in such pretty colors:
I used the white ones. On this close up, it is easy to see my stitching - the lettering is all done with Stem Stitch in light gray - this is DMC no. 415. Then I laced the Stem Stitch with silver blending filament. This is by Kreinik Threads and is silver no. 001. I love using this filament. It rarely tangles and adds so much sparkle. I also used it on the hearts. One is outlined in Stem Stitch and filled with Cross Stitches, the other is outlined in Back Stitch and filled with lines of Back Stitch.
I think this is beautiful. I really love the dimension the pearl beads give and the sparkle of silver:
I am back with part two of my wedding cake embroidery project.
You can read part one {here}. As you can see, since that last post, I decided to stay with the cream and gold color palette!
I finished the cake plate with some Herringbone Stitch:
This is such a beautiful stitch and adds the perfect decoration for the plate:
I also finished the bow
and ribbon streamers. I filled the ribbon with Running Stitch:
For the top cake tier, I used a Whipped Stem Stitch for the decoration. I whipped the cream colored cotton floss with gold metallic floss. For the middle cake tier decoration, I stitched a line of Stem Stitch in cotton floss and couched a row of metallic gold floss right under the Stem Stitch. I also added some pearl beads:
I really enjoyed adding a few extras to this project. The pearl beads added dimension and the metallic floss added so much sparkle. I am pleased with the final result and happy that I kept the cream and gold color palette!
I am stitching this wedding cake from the Wedding Embroidery Set.
My original plan was to use gold, rose, burgundy and cream as the color scheme.
So far I have stitched the cake platform in gold:
The ribbon in gold and the cake in the cream. I sewed a large pearl bead on the bow:
I like the cream and gold color combination!
To the bottom tier, I have started sewing on some small cream colored pearl beads:
Two more tiers to go - I don't know if I will incorporate the other colors or stay with the cream and gold?

I have an update to my wedding wreath stitching that I first posted about here and here.
I transferred the bridal couple's initials and the ceremony date to the middle of the wreath motif:
Then I stitched the wreath:
I used the bride's colors - this beautiful palette:
And lastly, I stitched in the initials and the date:
I only used two stitches for this whole project, the Stem Stitch and French Knots.

Since that post, I have finished the wreath. I think the colors are beautiful together. Very feminine:
Inside the wreath, I added the bridal couple's initials and their wedding date:
I cut and pasted these letters and numbers from the Wedding embroidery pattern.
I actually started stitching the initials before I started the wreath stitching but I didn't know if I wanted all the text in mint. It might look like too much of one color?
I decided to stitch the whole wreath first and then decide:
Here are the colors I used for the wreath - mint, light and dark pink, and {for sparkle} blending filament. Now I just need to make a decision for the text color!
I have a new embroidery pattern set in my shop! It is called Wedding.
This is a 12 page set with so many beautiful motifs! Here is a look:
I am really looking forward to stitching all of the motifs, especially the wedding cakes :)
I first stitched this ring set - and yes that is metallic floss...I was very careful and it turned out beautifully!
My next project using these motifs is a bridal wreath surrounding the couple's initials and the date of the wedding.
This set has a beautiful font with all the upper and lowercase letters and numbers.
To set this up, I first selected and cut out the initials and the numbers:
Also, an ampersand and a dash. There are several sizes of the ampersand and also the word "and" which gives a lot of options for personalizing a project.
Then I cut out the bridal wreath:
Then I positioned everything the way I wanted. I taped everything together, I find this very helpful especially if you use a repositionable tape!
Next I laid my fabric over the taped together image and used my water soluble marking pen to trace onto my fabric:
The wedding colors are mint and pink. I selected a really pretty palette of these colors and added some sparkly blending filaments.
I have started the stitching and I am really pleased so far. I will keep updating with my progress on this project!
