Cherry Blossom Embroidery Pattern

I have a new embroidery pattern available in my Etsy shop.  This one is titled Cherry Blossom.

Here is a screen shot of my drawing...

Here is a look at the pattern set:

This is my current work in progress, a tree from the set.  You can see I have certainly been stitching French Knots!  I will post my colors and stitch list soon.

Long Tailed Daisy Stitch

Notice the orange stamens in this flower? They are formed using the Long Tailed Daisy Stitch. This stitch is the next entry I am adding to my 100 Stitches plus list.

To demonstrate this simple and versatile stitch, I am using perle cotton floss in blue - this is DMC no. 3843.

The Long Tailed Daisy Stitch is actually just a Lazy Daisy Stitch {which I demonstrated here}but the loop is much smaller and the securing stitch is longer and forms the tail.

You can make the tail any length you prefer.   The Lazy Daisy Stitches forming the blue flowers on the left show the difference between the two stitches:

I learned this stitch from the book Embroidery by Mary Webb.

Embroidered Winter Theme Napkin

I have the most beautiful winter themed table napkins to share.  These are hand embroidered.  The winter berries and snowflakes motif is from my Winter hand embroidery pattern.

The branches are embroidered using the Stem Stitch, the berries are all Satin Stitch, the large snowflakes are Straight Stitch and the smaller flakes are French Knots.

I used a winter inspired color palette of white, red, blue, gray and a sort of mauve-brown.  The sparkle is provided by Kreinik's multicolored blending filament.

Here are the floss color numbers:
