Teddy Bear on a Swing Embroidery - Part Four

There is a little bit of progress to share on my teddy bear embroidery.  His face is filled in - mainly in Long and Short Stitch

I am experimenting on how to fill in the big tree trunk.  The whorls in the bark are made using Stem Stitch.  I am not sure if I will continue with the lines of Back Stitch to fill in all of the blank area.  As you can see from the motif, there is no line to define the left-side border of the trunk:

To finish this trunk, perhaps a sort of fading effect could be done by reducing the amount of stitches and plies of floss out to the edge...?

Teddy Bear on a Swing Embroidery - Part Three

Remember this teddy bear project?

Since my last post, I have added chain for the swing to hang from.  I used the Chain Stitch, but now am wondering if Rope Stitch might be a better choice?
I do love the chain's floss color - this is a newly released color: DMC no. 21

One of the butterflies is done - I may add some blending filament to give sparkle to his wings:

Next up is selecting the colors for this bigger butterfly:

Teddy Bear Embroidery Pattern

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen my stitching progress on this little teddy bear project.

I have just finished the stitching and I am so pleased with the result!

I think roasting marshmallows over a campfire is a perfect summer motif :)  This pattern set has so many scenes like this one. I want to stitch them all up and I plan to incorporate them into a boy's quilt.
