Scandinavian Christmas Embroidery Project - Part Two
I have finished the Scandinavian Christmas embroidery project. You can see part one of this project in this blog post.
This motif is from the Scandinavian Christmas embroidery set:
For the snowflake I used Lazy Daisy stitches in the blue floss and Straight Stitches in the silver floss. The blue lines under the sequins are also Straight Stitch. The sequins are held in place with French Knots:
I used rows of Back Stitch for all the text and for the circular frame I used the Double Knot Stitch.
I used perle cotton floss and metallic floss on this project. The color palette is limited, only three different colors!
Here are the floss color numbers:

Scandinavian Christmas Stitching - Part One
Are you starting any Christmas embroidery projects? I am - I just finished this ornament from the Scandinavian Christmas pattern set.
I just love the red and white with silver accents! All the sparkle comes from metallic floss and blending filament. I used them everywhere!
This particular ornament is the first in a set of five that I am stitching for a set of napkins. I stitched this on white kona cotton fabric.
I have four more patterns to transfer and stitch so I am happy that I started so early!

Dala Horse Embroidery
I just finished up this Dala Horse embroidery. These motifs are from the Scandinavian Christmas embroidery pattern set.
Isn't he colorful? I really like the palette on this project. {I noted all the floss colors at the bottom of this post!}
His scalloped saddle is outlined in Blanket Stitch - I was pleasantly surprised at how easily the Blanket Stitch worked around all these curves:
I outlined the horse in Back Stitch. I used Stem Stitch for his bridle, reins the inside of the saddle and the saddle straps. The accents are done in French Knots and Lazy Daisies:
For the berry vine I used Stem Stitch for the vine, Straight Stitch for the leaves and Satin Stitch for the berries. Again I used French Knots to embellish:
Here are the colors and floss numbers I used for this project. {In case it is too bright to read :) the yellow is dmc 307}

Scandinavian Christmas
Scandinavian Christmas is the title of a new embroidery pattern available in my Etsy shop.
Just in time to start some Christmas stitching!
I love Scandinavian designs and I think they work extremely well when done in embroidery!
These motifs are perfect for embellishing any Julefest linens or decorations. There are around 52 motifs/borders in this set.
I have already stitched up this little Santa Lucia Bride:
and this tree:
This is what the embroidery pattern set looks like:
