I have three works-in-progress to share.  These motifs are from the Thanksgiving and the Sly Fox pattern sets:

All three have been transferred to fabric and I am stitching them in beautiful autumnal shades

I will post stitch and floss color palette information soon!

Autumn Embroidery - part two

I finished the stitching on this autumn embroidery project.  I am really pleased with the result!

I used the Back Stitch for all of the stems.  For the salmon pink colored leaves, I used Straight Stitch.  For the green leaves, I used Lazy Daisy Stitch with a Straight Stitch over the top.  The seed heads on the tarragon plants are all French Knots.

Here are the floss color numbers for the palette I used:

Autumn Trees Modern Embroidery - part 2

I finished stitching two works in progress!

However, today I am sharing the stitch and color palette information for just one - this modern autumn tree panel:

If you remember from part 1 of this project, I mentioned that the autumn tree pattern had accent lines on three of the trees:

After adding the contrasting colors:

I have decided that I like the original plain stitching, solid colors version much better!

The stitch information is really simple - the whole project is done with Straight Stitch

Here are the floss numbers for the color palette:

Autumn Embroidery Work in Progress

I have a work in progress to share.  I started stitching a small panel of autumn plants.  I selected a neutral color palette but after collecting a variety of leaves, I decided to use colors from the leaves:

So I removed all the neutral floss and started stitching with the new color palette.

Now looking at the neutral palette - I really like it -perhaps I will transfer this image again and stitch it in the neutral!

I will post again with the finished project and all the floss color numbers and stitch information.

Autumn Trees Modern Embroidery

I have a work in progress to share.  I wanted to stitch some autumn trees so I am using this tree line motif  from my Sly Fox embroidery pattern set.

I selected some floss colors I thought would work well for autumn:

But I changed my color palette and used these:

Three of the trees have accent lines, I am not sure if I am going to add these lines in a contrasting color or just leave all of the trees a solid color?

Sly Fox Embroidery Part Three

I finished the embroidery on the back pillow panel. You can read about this project here: {Part 1} and here: {Part 2} .

I am really pleased with this back panel, both with the color palette and the variety of stitches I used.
The green plant in the center has Fishbone Stitch leaves and a Stem Stitch stem.  The two burnt orange colored plants are done in Back Stitch and French Knots.  The two green plants on the outer edges have Stem Stitch stems, Lazy Daisy Stitch leaves with Straight Stitch centers:

Here are the front and back panels side by side so that you can see how well they go together:

I still need to iron both panels, select a nice trim for the pillow edges and make the pillow.

For now, I am recording all of my colors and stitches to include in my Embroidery Journal:

Sly Fox Embroidery - Part Two

I finished the stitching on the little sleeping fox motif. In my last post about this project, I had just completed the flower/leaf border.

Since then I finished the text and the fox:

I am really happy with this and I am making plans to turn this into a pillow panel.
I cut a matching sized panel for the pillow back and added a different motif from my Sly Fox pattern set.
This motif features some forest plants:

I am just getting started on the stitching.  I am using the same color palette as seen on the front panel.

Sly Fox Embroidery Work-In-Progress

I have a quick update to my Sly Fox embroidery project.  You may remember when I last posted about this project I had just started on the fox's tail and the flower/leaves border:

Since that post, I have not made any progress on the fox stitching but I have finished the border :

The purple flower in the middle has a Stem Stitch outline, Trellis Couching Stitch inside and a Satin Stitch center.  The green plants are Stem Stitch stems with Lazy Daisy Stitch leaves.  The pale green leaves are Stem Stitch outlines with Straight Stitches for fill. The fill on the orange leaves is Seeding Stitch in two colors.

I will be back soon to share my progress on the fox!

Works In Progress

I have three new hand embroidery projects to share. Two are actually in progress and one is still in the planning stages.
First up is this sleeping fox.
These motifs are from my Sly Fox pattern set.  I combined a few border motifs with the fox and text of "sleep little fox".  I have just gotten started on part of the border and the fox's tail:

I am also working on this beautiful horse.  This motif is from my I Love Horses embroidery pattern set.  I am working the mane with Double Knot Stitch and Stem Stitch.  So far for colors I have a lot of pink, purples and I am thinking of adding a few shades of mint green:

The project in planning is something for the Fourth of July...

I will be sure to keep posting my progress on these three projects!

Fox Embroidery Pattern

I have a new hand embroidery pattern set available in my Etsy shop.
Titled Sly Fox, it features a sly little fox and his woodland home.
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have already seen this picture:

I was having some fun coloring some of the images with art pencils.

Since then, I have stitched up this image.  I really like his sweet face:

Especially his Satin Stitched eyes.  I used the Lazy Daisy stitch for the flowers:

There are so many images, text and borders in this pattern set.  I have a lot of projects planned.  Here is a look at the set:
