Chives Embroidery Project - Part Two

I finished embroidering the chives border.

I first blogged about this project {here} and you may remember that this border motif is from my Herbs embroidery pattern set.

I only used three different stitches for this project.  The flowers are Lazy Daisy Stitch, the buds are Straight Stitch and the stems are Stem Stitch.

I used satin floss for the chive buds and flowers and cotton floss for the stems.  Here are the color numbers:

Herb Embroidery Project - Part Three

The embroidery is all finished on this herb motif.  As you can see, I used a variety of stitches.  For the purple sage flowers I used the Lazy Daisy Stitch.  The sage leaves are formed with the Fish Bone Stitch.  On the larger sage leaves, I also added a Straight Stitch for a leaf vein.  The sage stem is surprisingly :) the Stem Stitch.  The dill plant is made up of Stem Stitch for the stem, Back Stitch for the leaves and umbel and French Knots for the flowers.  The dark green marjoram plant is all Fish Bone Stitch and Stem Stitch:

The tarragon stalks are made with Stem Stitch and Straight Stitch.
The twine is stitched with Back Stitch for the bows and Stem Stitch for the line.  I used the Cross Stitch to indicate where the stems are attached to the line:

Herb Embroidery Project - Part Two

I have made some progress on this herb embroidery project.  You can read about part one {here}

I finished the sage plant and am starting on the dill:

For the twine line, I am using perle cotton floss.  This color is DMC no. 4128.  The variations in the color of this floss make it a perfect choice to depict a natural twine:

Next up is the marjoram and tarragon.

Herb Embroidery Project - Part One

I am starting a new embroidery project from my Herbs pattern set.  This is a motif of various herbs being tied up to dry.
Happily, I have a lot of color inspiration from my own herb garden - these are chives, sage, thyme and rosemary:

I think these colors should work!

Herb Wreath Embroidery

I just finished embroidering this beautiful herb wreath motif.  This is from my new pattern set Herbs.

You may remember my work in progress post on this project.

Here is all the information on the stitches I used.  Check the end of the post for all the floss color information.

For these dark green leaves, I used the Fishbone Stitch {one of my favorites!}  The center of the marjoram leaves, the center stalk of the rosemary and the little top stems of the dill are all Stem Stitch.  The rosemary needle leaves are Straight Stitch.  The dill stem is Back Stitch and the dill seeds are French Knots :

The rosemary blooms are Lazy Daisy stitches with French Knots:

I recorded all of my floss colors {with samples} in my Embroidery Journal

Here are the floss color numbers:
