Embroidered Easter Table Napkins and Linens

These three motifs are from my Easter embroidery pattern set.  The pieces are: a left hand corner decoration, a right hand corner decoration and a center decoration.  I am experimenting with using them together for some Easter table linens.  I think they can work on a table runner or napkins:

The flowers are so easy to embroider, I should be able to finish either option by Easter.  {Lazy Daisy Stitch / Blanket Stitch / French Knots}

I am using a simple, pastel color palette too.  Here are the numbers:

I took this picture from my Camellia a few days ago - I am hoping the blooms will last through Easter!  

Easter Embroidery Project

 I am getting started on a new embroidery project.  Hopefully, I can get this done before Easter.  

You may remember the Easter napkin set I made last year?  I finished that one right in time as well :)

This year, I am embroidering an egg basket with flowers and a spring flower border.  Both of these motifs are from the Easter embroidery pattern set.

For the ribbon and basket edges, I am using the Double Knot Stitch,  I just love using this stitch! 
To fill the inside of the ribbon, I may do a Straight Stitch in a single strand of floss.  

I have made a few color selections and I may add some more.  I will make sure to post my progress. 

Easter Embroidery Project Part Three

I have finished my Easter embroidery project - and right in time!
You may remember from my previous posts on this project {part one} {part two} that I am making some Easter napkins.  
I used a variety of motifs from the Easter Embroidery Pattern:

I used four different egg motifs and stitched them in two spring colors - pink and yellow. 

For the grass and flowers, I used the same colors on all of the napkins - pale teal blue and mint green.

I used the Stem Stitch for all the grass and flower stems.  All of the eggs have rows of Straight Stitch in white or yellow.   All of the flowers are French Knots.

On this egg, I used the Stem Stitch to outline the egg, the Blanket Stitch for the top and bottom decorative lines, the Herringbone Stitch for the second line and the Chain Stitch for the third line. 

This egg is outlined with the Back Stitch and has Stem Stitch decorative lines:

This egg is also outlined with the Back Stitch and has Double Knot Stitch decorative lines:

I am really pleased with these and am looking forward to using them this Easter!

Easter Embroidery Project Part Two

Since my last post on this project, I have finished the embroidery on the second napkin.  This one features a pink Easter egg.  Isn't this floss pretty?  This is DMC's "color variations" perle cotton floss {no. 4180}.  I love the color shading of this floss, from the palest pink ~ almost white ~ to dark pink:

For the next napkin {you may remember I am making a set of eight!} I decided to combine some of the individual motifs from my Easter pattern set:

I cut out an egg and some grass and flowers and taped them together:

Now I will transfer this to fabric and start my stitching!

I am going to keep the same general theme for each of the napkins.  That means the same mint green grass and flower stems with the same blue French Knot flowers.  I will use a single pastel color or subtle variation in colors in perle cotton floss for the egg. And, I will continue to add Running Stitch to fill the open spaces on the eggs.  As you can see in this close up, I am doing the Running Stitch in a single strand of cotton floss:

I will keep posting on my progress.  I should be able to finish all eight by Easter :)

Easter Embroidery Project - Part One

If you follow me on Instagram, you will have already seen this yellow Easter egg picture.
I am making a set of small napkins for Easter and will be embroidering on each one.  I am using motifs from the Easter embroidery pattern set.  

I love these eggs surrounded by flowers and grass - I have completed one in yellow floss and now I am starting on a pink one:

I would like to make a set of eight of these - in different spring colors.  I will keep you posted on my progress!

Easter Embroidery

I have a sweet Easter motif to share - this little chick alongside some decorated eggs. 

I used several different stitches on this project, I am sure you recognize many of them!
For the chick, I used the Stem Stitch for his outline.  I used Fly Stitch for his feathers and his eye is done with Satin Stitch and Straight Stitch for the lashes.

The lavender egg is also outlined with Stem Stitch.  The decorative lines are done with Herringbone Stitch, Whipped Blanket Stitch {edged with a Back Stitch line} and Chain Stitch:

The pink egg and the mint egg are done with Stem Stitch and French Knots.  I used a Back Stitch for the little flower in the pink egg.  I had only used one strand of floss on the flower and it looked way too thin!  Rather than take it back out and start over, I whipped it with another strand of floss - I like the effect!

On My Worktable Today

I have quite a few stitching projects on my worktable today.  They are either in progress or just being planned. 

I am giving my two favorite transfer pens a real workout.  They both seem to be running low on ink - I hope I can transfer all of these images! 

I also wanted to share a very quick stitching I did yesterday.  If you follow me on Instagram, you may have already seen the finish but here are a few process pictures.  

I used this lazy daisy egg from the Easter pattern set. For my colors, I chose a variety of light spring pastels.  Notice the big skein?  That is a variegated perle cotton

that I used to outline the egg.  I used the Stem Stitch. A nice stitch for this application as it shows off the color gradations of the floss and it makes such a neat line to form the curved edges the egg:

I stitched all of the Lazy Daisy stitches and French Knots to fill the inside of the Easter egg and here is the finish:

I had fun with this one, it took me less than an hour to finish,  most of that time was spent choosing colors!

Easter Embroidery Patterns

I have a few Easter embroidery finishes and a new work-in-progress to share.  First up is this sweet egg basket and flowers: 

I used an Easter basket motif and two border patterns from my Easter embroidery pattern set:

I finished stitching it yesterday and washed out all the water soluble marker lines.  Then I pressed it and took a few pictures.  When I was uploading the pictures, I spotted a mistake that I hadn't seen before - look closely at the ribbon hanging off the bow:
 

I forgot to finish the edge on the right-hand side!  It was only a few stitches missing so I was able to fill them in. 

It looks much better now! 

The stitches I used on the ribbon are the Herringbone Stitch for the inside and the Stem Stitch for the edges.  I used the Blanket Stitch for the handle.  The scalloped rim of the basket and the accent lines on the front of the basket are all done in Stem Stitch.  The outline of the basket is done in Split Stitch and Back Stitch.  I used all of these stitches on the eggs and also French Knots and Chain Stitch: 

The flowers and the green curvy lines are Stem Stitch.  There are also Lazy Daisy Stitch and more French Knots:

My other finish is this decorated egg.  This was so fun to stitch and since I used such easy stitches, it was very quick to finish!  This is Stem Stitch for the egg border and the flowers, French Knots, and Cross Stitches with a Straight Stitch in a contrasting color over their middles:
