Herb Embroidery Project - Part Two

I have made some progress on this herb embroidery project.  You can read about part one {here}

I finished the sage plant and am starting on the dill:

For the twine line, I am using perle cotton floss.  This color is DMC no. 4128.  The variations in the color of this floss make it a perfect choice to depict a natural twine:

Next up is the marjoram and tarragon.

Panda Bear Embroidery Project - Part Two

I finished all the embroidery on the panda bear project.  You may remember this from part one - which you can read about {here}.

This was a really enjoyable project and I love the color palette.

The stitches used are Long and Short Stitch for the panda's face, and rows of Back Stitch form his ears and eyes.  The face is done with 4 strands of cotton floss and the ears and eyes in perle cotton floss. His nose is Straight Stitch and his mouth is Back Stitch.  These were done with perle cotton floss.  The bamboo is outlined with Stem Stitch and filled with Straight Stitch.  The bamboo is all stitched with perle cotton floss.  For the flowers and leaves, I used Straight Stitch in perle cotton.   All of the French Knots are formed using six strands of cotton floss.

Rope Stitch

The Rope Stitch is the latest embroidery stitch I have learned from my 100 Stitches Plus list.

For my demonstration, I am using perle cotton floss. This is DMC color variations number 48:

The Rope Stitch looks best done along a gently curving line.  I marked this line as a guide:

The stitch is worked from right to left.  I came up through the fabric at the right edge of the guideline:

and pulled the floss all the way through:

Herb Embroidery Project - Part One

I am starting a new embroidery project from my Herbs pattern set.  This is a motif of various herbs being tied up to dry.
Happily, I have a lot of color inspiration from my own herb garden - these are chives, sage, thyme and rosemary:

I think these colors should work!

Sailboat Embroidery

I recently finished embroidering this sailboat motif.  I used soft colors, especially for the sails and the boat.

I used three very basic stitches on this project.  The sails are outlined in Back Stitch and filled with Straight Stitch.  The pennant banner is done with Stem Stitch and Straight Stitch.  The boat is outlined and accented with Stem Stitch.  There are a few filling lines of Straight Stitch.

Here are the floss color numbers used :
