Finally here!!!

I bought a sewing machine! It has been on backorder and I have been not so patiently waiting for it to arrive - it was finally ready to pick up yesterday! I did a lot of research on what type of sewing machine I wanted and I narrowed it down to the HusqvarnaViking line: I selected the Emerald 118 and here it is! This machine has so many exciting features. It has 18 different stitches, a one step buttonhole process, adjustable presser foot pressure, a see through drop-in bobbin case with an automatic bobbin thread pickup: and a built in automatic needle threader:It came with so many nice accessories - a few of which I have no idea how to use yet:and this model has 8 different presser feet: I am really excited to start sewing, so far I have only sewn basic straight seams with the presser foot that was already on the machine! Stay tuned!

I want to buy a sewing machine, but I can't decide...brother, husqvarna or singer....
If you can help me, please send me an e-mail.
It would be the first time I work with a sewing machine and I don't know exactly what should I take into account

Great choice! I have an E116 and I love it! I can't see much difference between mine and yours, maybe mine has 16 stitches and doesn't have a needle down button? If you need any help with the accessories, I think I've got them all figured out now! I also bought a walking foot, a 1/4" piecing foot and a FME foot - great investments!

I love it!! I have a Husqvarna Freesia. I bought it 7 years ago. Mine is pretty basic and I had always planned on moving "up" to a Bernina but I am still so pleased with my Husqy..I never think about trading it!

Enjoy!

Thank you all for your comments!
Miss Paula - Thanks! Seems like this is an excellent brand from all that I am hearing!
Sara - Thank you! It is exciting :)
Anita - Thank you! That speaks really well for this brand
donna!ee - Thank you! I am really enjoying checking them out!
SaraCreations - Thanks! I will send you an email - you have a beautiful blog!
Simone - Thank you! I an't wait to start making things :)
Wendy - Thank you! I can't see any difference either except the two you mentioned - I am also planning on buying additional presser feet - what is the FME foot?
Libby - That is so good to know! I wanted a Bernina too - my mom still has her Bernina 830 - I love that machine!!! It is so heavy duty and all metal. When I started looking for a machine, I was really surprised and sort of disappointed at how "plastic-y" they all felt, but now that I have this husqy, it doesn't seem like that at all - it is really sturdy feeling and has nice smooth stitching - I am really pleased!

I have a Husqvarna Viking too! The Sapphire 835. (looking thru old posts to see if I can find where you bought your skinny xfer pen ;)). I love it... and I have a ton of presser feet for it so if you need feet reviews LMK.

Hi Kerry! That 835 looks like a dream machine - so many features! Don't you just love the Viking machines? - Yes I have a post all about that transfer pen and transferring patterns to fabric here: http://bigbgsd.blogspot.com/2010/10/ideas-on-transferring-patterns-to.html

Ooh whoops, mine is an 830 - the model right before the 835. I can't tell much difference between the 2 though.

Thanks for the link on transferring! Coupon Commotion is on at JA's... I'll head over there and get the pen!
