Rosette of Thorns Stitch
Time for another 100 Stitches Plus post. This is the Rosette of Thorns Stitch.
For my demonstration, I am using perle cotton floss. This is DMC color variations 4200
Rosette of Thorns Stitch is easy to do. However, it can be challenging to keep the stitch spacing consistent. After some practice, I found that drawing a straight guideline to follow keeps the row of stitches looking even.
This stitch is worked from left to right. It is basically five Blanket {or Buttonhole} Stitches stitched with their bases close together. They are slanted to form a crown shape.

Life Is Better At The Beach Embroidery Project
The embroidery is all done on this project from my Beach House pattern set.
I used seven different stitches.
The circle outline is Double Knot Stitch. The starfish are Fishbone Stitch.
The "life" text is a combination of Blanket Stitch, Back Stitch, Stem Stitch and a French Knot.
The text "is better at the" is also a combination of Back Stitch, Stem Stitch and a French Knot.
The "Beach" text is all Stem Stitch.
The clam shell is outlined with Back Stitch and Stem Stitch. The inside has French Knots and Straight Stitches:
The color palette for this project is so pretty! I think the colors match some of the beautiful shades found in beach glass.
I recorded all the details of this project for my Embroidery Journal:
Here are the floss color numbers:

Beach House Embroidery Pattern
I have a new embroidery pattern set available in my shop!
I am currently stitching several of the motifs from this set.
This is the main motif, Life is better at the beach:
I am making good progress! I will do a post with all the stitches used and also the floss color numbers.
Here are some other stitching projects I am working on from this pattern set:
I especially love this sea turtle surrounded by bubbles. I plan on using a color palette of greens and blues.
