I am so pleased with all the motifs in this pattern set! I can think of so many projects to use them on. I am definitely going to make kitchen towels and stitch all the days of the week in Italian:
Maybe I should do them in the colors of the Italian flag...
I also really like this color combination:
Hmm, I am wondering where your inspiration came from for this set. Now you have me hankering to try satin stitch with pearl cotton
ReplyDeleteHi Mary - You should try the satin stitch with the pearl cotton, it is so quick and I love the way it fills the space, really nice!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! I really love your work. What kind of stitch is that on the yellow part? I've also wondered, when stitching on dish towels, how do you hide the work on the back?
ReplyDeleteHi Cecilia - Thank you! :) The yellow stitching is a satin stitch, I am using perle cotton floss so it really fills in the space quickly and easily. When I stitch on dish towels, I don't usually worry about the back. I generally try to work one area at a time and not go across wide open spaces with the working floss. I end my stitching in each area by running my needle under nearby stitches to secure my working thread and then start again in a new area. I trim all the ends on the knots so they are not too frayed looking.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kim! I've always wondered about that.
ReplyDeleteLindo motivo!!
